Practice EMDR adaptations for Children and Adolescents

Level 1 training in EMDR only covers its application with adults.  Many therapists struggle to adapt the protocol to the developmental needs of children and adolescents, even when they are experienced child therapists. This one-day experiential workshop draws on the rich history of adaptations to EMDR for use with our younger clients.

  • Immediately begin using EMDR with children and young people
  • Ideal for those who are new to EMDR or want to build confidence

Practice techniques covering all the phases of EMDR

  • Child-inclusive case conceptualisation and treatment planning
  • Playful and creative ways to identify target memories
  • Strategies for preparation and expanding the window of tolerance
  • Playful ways of providing BLS
  • Adjusting procedural steps to the developmental needs of children
  • Considering and negotiating the role of parents and carers
  • An overview of creative methods including sand tray protocol, EMDR games and the storytelling technique
