Level 1 EMDR plus OPTIONAL workshop on adaptations for children
8:45 AM- 5:00 PM (Level 1)
8:45 AM -3:00 PM (Adaptations for children and adolescents)
This comprehensive training is designed for those working with adults or children. It covers our standard Level 1 program and is followed by an optional day where, for a reduced fee, you can learn to adapt the standard protocol to provide EMDR to children. This ensures you can immediately use EMDR with your younger clients. You can combine both workshops at this special reduced cost, or do either as a stand alone.
Level 1 EMDR training
Our Level 1 training consists of a minimum of 21.5 hours of integrated theory and practice. The course is accredited by EMDRAA.
The training consists of 2 parts – equivalent of one day preparation and 2 days live training
Part A: Pre-Workshop Preparation
- 8 hours compulsory preparation completed online prior to the training
- The learning modules consist of recorded lectures and reading material covering important conceptual foundations
- These are completed through our online learning system, at your own pace and in your own time
- You have access to the modules for 2 weeks following the live training so you can refresh and deepen your learning
A link to the online material will be sent 3 weeks prior to the live training and must be completed at least 48 hours before the live workshop.
Unfortunately, anyone who doesn’t complete the pre-workshop modules will not be able to attend the training, and will forfeit registration. This ensures safety for everyone and maintains accreditation standards. There can be no exceptions and no extensions, so please plan well ahead.
Part B: Live Workshop and Practicum delivered face-to-face
- 2 days of experiential learning and practice
- The focus is on building skills to enable you to safely provide EMDR to your clients.
- Participants work in small groups to practice giving and receiving EMDR under supervision.
